In order to learn with Synthesia, you have to learn the entire thing from memory. That is only a small part of what playing music is all about, but it's the only thing Synthesia teaches you. You learn to press the right keys at the right time. You will make close to no progress using Synthesia every new song that you learn will feel like starting from 0. Synthesia is not a good method to learn music with. Should I be a passive appreciator for music rather than attempt to learn it myself? It's very difficult for me I'm not sure if I should try and continue in all honesty. And I don't have time to spare for a piano teacher either. Learning songs from video games seems really difficult for me. Even if I press the keys, I'm never gonna progress beyond this is what I feel like. I tried the easiest setting and even then have to stare at the synthesia screen to figure out which key to press. I never had any experience with musical instruments ever and I can't make heads or tails of anything. I got a midi to usb cable and tried out Synthesia. I'm 26, I will be starting my internship as a doctor ne this month and won't have any time at all from then.
I currently have around a month of free time and thought I would give it a shot. However I never had the time and never did go through with it. I always wanted to learn some songs such as 'To Zanarkand' from video games. My parents had gotten it for my older brother and he had some piano lessons, but never learned beyond that. I've always had an old Casio piano lying in my house ever since I was young.
